National Lung Cancer Screening Program Lead for BSW Region
The National Lung Cancer Screening Program (NLCSP) is a screening program using low dose computed tomography scans to look for lung cancer in high-risk people without any symptoms. It aims to find lung cancer early and reduce deaths from lung cancer, with screening services beginning for eligible people in the second half of 2025.
To prepare for the implementation of the new NLCSP, BSWRICS has funded a 6-month regional project which will be hosted by Cancer Services at Barwon Health. The Project Lead will work with key stakeholders across the region to ensure system readiness and support the necessary referral pathways.
Justin Ludowyk has been appointed as the Project Lead for the NLCSP initiative, transitioning into this role in April 2025. Justin brings a wealth of skills both clinically and in leading projects. Most recently, he has been working as the GI Clinical Nurse Consultant within Cancer Services at Barwon Health. Justin recently demonstrated strong project leadership in successfully implementing the successful QOOL-Vic MDM project.
A project advisory committee will be established as part of this project, if you would like to be involved or have any other questions regarding the NLCSP in the BSW region, please contact Justin via JUSTIN.LUDOWYK@barwonhealth.org.au
