BRICC ‘Why Wait for Wellness?’ program evaluation and expansion

Held in the Wellness Centre located at Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre (BRICC) the Why Wait for Wellness (WWW) program promotes wellness during and after cancer treatment

GICS awarded a service improvement grant to BRICC Allied Health staff to evaluate the WWW Program and review the potential for regional expansion, with the aim of enhancing early access to health education and support for oncology patients in the Grampians region.

The aim of the project was to:

  • evaluate the acceptability and feasibility of virtual delivery and compare with face-to-face delivery of the WWW program
  • to redevelop the program based on participant feedback.

This project has enabled the Allied Health team to develop a prehabilitation based education program aimed at supporting self-management for cancer patients during their treatment.

This project was completed in February 2024.
