Barwon South Western Regional Integrated Cancer Service (BSWRICS) logo

BSWRICS is a partnership of 19 health services across the Barwon South Western region. 

We continue to build relationships with public and private hospitals and primary care networks to improve system integration and coordination through care that is multidisciplinary, supportive, and responsive to the needs of communities across the region.

Geriatric Oncology Pilot Project at Western District Health Service

WDHS sought to develop and implement a geriatric oncology pilot project which commenced in January 2024. BSWRICS committed funding to support the appointment of a project officer and provide project management guidance.

The BSW Regional MDM QOOL-Vic Implementation Project supported and funded by BSWRICS adopted a regional approach to implementing the QOOL-Vic MDM software.

Home-based cancer care in the Barwon South West region

BSWRICS in partnership with the BSW Health Service Partnership agreed to support the scoping and establishment of cancer care at home, or closer to home, at some health services.

Strengthening Regional Cancer Centres

BSWRICS worked with 2 Regional Cancer Centres to create independent service plans that address the needs of each local community whilst ensuring an overarching regional approach.
