CPD for nurses working with children and adolescents with cancer

This resource has been developed by PICS, Victoria’s Paediatric Integrated Cancer Service. 

The framework below has been developed to provide continuing professional development (CPD) guidance for paediatric oncology nurses. It should complement health-service-specific requirements for core skills and competencies, as well as standards for continuing professional development defined by the relevant nursing regulation agency.

The framework is specific to paediatric oncology practice and is aimed at registered nurses working in paediatric oncology settings. It provides high-level guidance for advancing practice of the paediatric oncology workforce, and can be used by individual nurses, nurse educators, and health service leaders.
