Socioeconomic stability and cancer across Western & Central Melbourne
Exploring the Patient Population Profile of Socioeconomic Stability and its effect on People Affected by Cancer in Western and Central Melbourne
Building on our commitment to advancing equity in cancer care, WCMICS is now turning its attention to the role of socioeconomic stability in shaping cancer experiences and outcomes.
This exploratory work will seek to understand how factors such as income, employment, education, housing, and financial stress influence access to care, treatment adherence, and survivorship across the Western and Central Melbourne region. By better understanding the patient population profile through a socioeconomic lens, we aim to identify systemic barriers and inform targeted strategies that promote equitable, person-centred cancer care for all.
