LMICS Region MDMs

Cancer patients are routinely referred by their treating doctor to multidisciplinary meetings (MDMs) in Bendigo, Mildura, or other sites including Melbourne.

These are regularly scheduled meetings of core and invited team members for the purpose of prospective treatment and care planning of newly diagnosed cancer patients as well as those requiring review of treatment plans or palliative care.

LMICS does not have an operational role in MDMs but does support MDM quality improvement initiatives at the statewide and local level.

The following meetings are held regularly by health services:

• Bendigo Breast and Colorectal (weekly)
• Bendigo Genitourinary (fortnightly)
• Bendigo Head, Neck and Skin (monthly)
• Bendigo Haematology (fortnightly)
• Bendigo Thoracic (weekly)
• Mildura General (fortnightly).
