The VICS at the 2025 National Survivorship Conference
Australia’s 2025 National Cancer Survivorship Conference was hosted in Melbourne, 6–7 March, by the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia (COSA) in partnership with Flinders University, the Australian Cancer Survivorship Centre, and the VCCC Alliance.
The conference gathered clinicians, researchers, policymakers, and consumers from across the country to advance cancer survivorship care and strengthen capability and capacity in this area. It featured several posters and presentations from the VICS and our partners, including:
- Our Hume Regional Integrated Cancer Service (HRICS) showcased two posters in collaboration with member health services – one with Northeast Health Wangaratta [PDF] and one with GV Health [PDF].
- Our statewide Paediatric Integrated Cancer Service (PICS) presented posters on the paediatric approach within the VICS’ statewide collaboration with the Australian Cancer Survivorship Centre (ACSC)[PDF] and the development of the Victorian Childhood Cancer Outcomes Registry (VCCOR)[PDF].
- Our Southern Melbourne Integrated Cancer Service (SMICS) coauthored a poster with Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre on gap analysis of survivorship care for head and neck patients receiving radiation therapy [Abstract].
Professional development grants from NEMICS also funded 12 cancer nurses from across our member services in northeastern Melbourne to attend the conference.
