Supporting regional cancer patients with trusted accommodation solutions
Since 2017, MediStays has become a vital part of the community of care that puts its arms around Australians when they are confronting a health crisis, or need disability accommodation.
MediStays connects patients and their families with suitable accommodation near all major treatment centres across metro and regional Victoria. Their accommodation network ranges from serviced apartments to dedicated patient accommodation facilities, tailored specifically to the needs of those travelling for medical reasons.
MediStays can assist patients and families with:
- ensuring they access the best possible accommodation at the best possible rates, including negotiated rates for longer stays
- understanding and accessing travel subsidies (e.g. VPTAS) and other funding that may be available
- avoiding any unforeseen costs if treatment and stay dates change or are cancelled.
Patients and families can book accommodation independently via the MediStays website or can be referred to MediStays using their Rapid Request form for health professionals. Support can also be provided via phone.
