HRICS Annual Forum 2023-24
HRICS held their 2023-24 Annual Forum on Wednesday October 16, 2024 at Gateway Wangaratta.
The theme “Closing the Loop – Cancer Service Improvement across the patient journey in Regional and Rural Communities”.
This year our face to face format provided the opportunity for our 22 member health services and regional stakeholders to engage, connect and continue to build collaborative networks.
The forum featured a focus on Patient Reported Outcome Measures [PROMs] and Patient Reported Experience Measures [PREMs] with guest speaker Mel Tinsley, Associate Director, IDEA (Integrated Digital Enablement Accelerator) Agency for Clinical Innovation, NSW Health. Participants were supported to consider the value of patient reported measures versus patient satisfaction and strategies for implementation.
HRICS also welcomed highly regarded speakers enlightening the audience on local innovations and service improvements that are improving the outcomes and experiences for patients, their families and carers within our local region.

A wide array of posters were displayed within the venue reporting on HRICS contributions within statewide and local improvement activities, and additional informing pieces on HRICS data request service and service improvement grants program.
HRICS Director Annie Williams announced the release of HRICS 2023-24 Annual Report. This report highlights a range of initiatives, achievements, and contributions from HRICS and partner organisations, aimed at improving cancer service delivery models. It underscores HRICS commitment to enhancing patient care and outcomes through innovative practices and collaborative efforts.
In the closing of the forum, the message was clear that HRICS is excited to continue collaborating with our member health services and regional stakeholders. Together, we can drive innovative service improvements, enhance access and equity, and ensure provision of high-quality cancer care for patients in the Hume region.
