Our commitment to better cancer care, starts with you.
We believe empowering our frontline clinical workforce is key to driving meaningful improvements in cancer care. In partnership with our member health services and clinicians, WCMICS is dedicated to enhancing processes, improving patient outcomes, and fostering a culture of innovation.
Our primary purpose is to bring about transformative system change within the cancer sector by offering expertise in quality improvement (QI) and service redesign initiatives.
Get in touch with WCMICS
Commencing in early 2025, WCMICS is proud to introduce our flagship Workforce Quality Improvement Skills Program.
This comprehensive initiative is designed to equip healthcare professionals with the tools, knowledge, and networks to lead impactful changes in cancer care delivery.
Central to the program is our innovative QI-L6S curriculum, which integrates Lean Six Sigma principles with improvement science to provide a robust foundation for success. The program encompasses three cornerstone initiatives:
- Masterclass Series delivers targeted workshops that focus on building essential skills in improvement science, project management, and leadership. These sessions provide practical knowledge to tackle real-world healthcare challenges effectively.
- IGNITE Mentorship (Inspiring Growth. Nurturing Innovation. Towards Excellence) This 6-month placement offers hands-on coaching, personalised support, and real-world application. Participants gain the confidence and capability to transform innovative ideas into impactful solutions.
- Improvement Hub Community of Practice (CoP) is a collaborative online platform where participants connect with like-minded peers. The CoP fosters knowledge-sharing, encourages collaboration, and supports the scaling of best practices across the sector.
Supporting You Every Step of the Way
Our dedicated Project Leads play a pivotal role in supporting frontline staff. They help teams identify opportunities for improvement, navigate improvement methodologies, and provide ongoing guidance to ensure sustained success. From process mapping to outcome monitoring, we work alongside clinicians to turn challenges into opportunities.
