Radiotherapy (Late Complications e-learning #4)

This resource has been developed by PICS, Victoria’s Paediatric Integrated Cancer Service.

As part of our professional development and education resources for health professionals, PICS has developed a series of e-learning videos on survivorship, late complications, and long-term follow-up care for children and adolescents following treatment for cancer.

This is the fourth video in the series, Late complications – Radiotherapy.

It describes potential late complications that may follow radiotherapy treatment for childhood cancer, including:

  • neurocognitive impairments
  • other effects on the brain
  • second malignancies
  • increased risk of breast cancer
  • long-term side effects of radiation.
