Paediatric nausea and vomiting (e-learning module)

This resource has been developed by PICS, Victoria’s Paediatric Integrated Cancer Service.

As part of our professional development and education resources for health professionals, PICS has developed a series of e-learning modules with input from staff from The Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne, Monash Children’s Hospital, and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.

This module is Paediatric nausea and vomiting. It will help learners to:

  • Explain to a family why nausea and vomiting are common side effects of chemotherapy
  • Identify signs and symptoms of nausea in children
  • List the assessment tools used to monitor the incidence and severity of nausea and vomiting
  • Describe pharmacological and non-pharmacological prevention and management of nausea and vomiting
  • Describe the emetic potential of different chemotherapy agents.

The module is freely available, and hosted on the eviQ Education website.
