This resource has been developed by PICS, Victoria’s Paediatric Integrated Cancer Service.

As part of our professional development and education resources for health professionals, PICS has developed a series of e-learning modules with input from staff from The Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne, Monash Children’s Hospital, and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.

This module is Caring for a child with leukaemia. It will help learners to:

  • Answer families’ general questions about leukaemia (e.g. incidence, risk factors and outcomes)
  • List the tests and investigations used in the diagnosis of leukaemia
  • List the common treatment protocols used for leukaemia
  • Describe some of the common nursing implications in caring for child with leukaemia.

The module is freely available, and hosted on the eviQ Education website.
