Antifungal prophylaxis for children with cancer or undergoing HSCT (e-learning module)
This resource has been developed by PICS, Victoria’s Paediatric Integrated Cancer Service.
As part of our professional development and education resources for health professionals, PICS has developed a series of e-learning modules with input from staff from The Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne, Monash Children’s Hospital, and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
This module is Antifungal prophylaxis for children with cancer or undergoing haematopoietic stem cell transplant. It will help learners to:
- Understand the rationale behind antifungal prophylaxis in children with cancer or undergoing haematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT)
- Describe the risk factors for invasive fungal infections (IFI) in paediatric patient groups and when antifungal prophylaxis is recommended
- Describe the various antifungal agents used for IFI prophylaxis and the associated management
- Apply the relevant clinical practice guideline.
The module is freely available, and hosted on the eviQ Education website.
