Cancer Education Programs

Cancer Education Programs (CEPs) are group-based supportive care workshops for people with cancer, their carers, families, and friends. The workshops provide information, practical strategies and the opportunity for participants to connect with others affected by cancer.

Developed by Cancer Council, the workshops are delivered by trained facilitators* at health services around Victoria and provide relevant support during different stages of people’s cancer diagnosis.

The programs offer people affected by cancer:

  • useful information about cancer and treatment
  • practical tips to help manage challenges
  • a chance to connect with others going through similar experiences.

* Cancer Council provides comprehensive training to health professionals to deliver the programs in your own health service: See the Cancer Council Victoria website.

Both the Managing Cancer and Cancer Wellness programs consist of core session topics, plus optional ‘add-ons’ that health services can include to tailor to their specific needs.

Resources for facilitators of Cancer Council’s Managing Cancer and Cancer Wellness programs are available through a secure facilitator portal.
