VICS 20 Year Commemorative Artwork
In 2025 the Victorian Integrated Cancer Services (VICS) celebrated 20 years as Victoria’s cancer service improvement network. To honour two decades of collaboration, progress and shared commitment to better cancer care, Hume Regional Integrated Cancer Services (HRICS), on behalf of VICS, commissioned a new commemorative artwork.
The artwork titled “Healing Journeys” was created by Victorian Aboriginal artist, Vegas Fitzmaurice (VGF Creative), and acknowledges the profound impact of research, innovation, and compassion in shaping safe and hopeful healing pathways. It serves both as a celebration of progress and a reminder of our shared commitment to improving wellbeing and recovery for all.
As part of this initiative, HRICS offered its member health services across the Hume Region a complimentary framed print of the artwork.
Today, Healing Journeys is proudly displayed in over 15 clinical spaces and waiting areas throughout the Hume Region. The artwork provides a powerful visual reminder of strength, courage and hope—connected through Victoria’s landscapes, its people, and a shared commitment to the delivery of compassionate, inclusive and culturally safe cancer care.
HRICS will continue to support culturally welcoming health service environments across the Hume Region and enhance the physical spaces of member health services, helping to foster healing, connection and respect for all.
