Understanding patient reported experience across Hume cancer services

HRICS is undertaking a regional project to better understand how Patient-Reported Experience Measures (PREMs) are collected, reported and used across Hume cancer services.

PREMs capture patients’ perspectives of their healthcare experience and provide valuable information to support person-centred care, service improvement and healthcare redesign.

Working with participating health services, HRICS will establish a regional baseline of current PREMs practice, identifying strengths, variation, gaps and opportunities for shared learning and improvement.

The project also aligns with emerging national work through the Australian Real World Cancer Evidence Network (Pan Cancer Initiative), which is working to strengthen the integration of Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) and PREMs across cancer care.

Findings will help inform future regional improvement activities and strengthen readiness for evolving Victorian and national approaches to Patient-Reported Measures.
