New ‘Survivorship Bites’ resource to support nutrition after cancer treatment

Funded through the VICS Cancer Survivorship Program grants initiative, the Survivorship Bites project will develop an evidence-based digital nutrition resource to support people after cancer treatment. The project responds to a recognised gap in accessible, credible nutrition information for survivors and their carers. Led by dietitians at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and supported by the Victorian Cancer Malnutrition Collaborative, the resource will be codesigned with consumers and cancer nutrition experts. The project will review existing evidence, develop a consumer-friendly digital resource, and test usability before release.

Once complete, the resource will be integrated into existing nutrition pathways and survivorship initiatives, supporting self-management and improving consistency of nutrition advice across Victoria.

Surveys – Closing 14 April 2026

You can help to shape the Survivorship Bites recourse: The project team invites people who have been treated for cancer in the last 10 years, their carers, and health professionals who’ve worked in cancer care for at least 5 years to complete one of the forms below, to register their interest.

Participation will then involve:

  • up to 4 online workshops, via Microsoft Teams, each 1.5–2 h
  • a short online survey (about 15 min.)
  • a gift voucher available for your time.

If you’re aged 18 or over, live in Victoria, and have been treated for cancer or cared for someone with cancer in the last 10 years, please fill in the consumer recruitment survey.

If you’re a health professional (including nurses, dietitians, other clinicians) and have worked in cancer care for at least 5 years, please fill in the health professional recruitment survey.

Both recruitment surveys close on Tuesday 14 April.
