Strengthening access to supportive cancer care

HRICS is partnering with Cancer Council Victoria, Ramsay Health Shepparton and GenesisCare Shepparton to pilot a targeted partnership approach to improving access to supportive care for people affected by cancer.

Building on Cancer Council Victoria’s previous ACCESS work, the project will explore how closer partnerships with regional oncology services can strengthen clinicians’ awareness and confidence in available Cancer Council supports and referral pathways, and make it easier to connect patients with the right support when they need it.

The pilot combines tailored clinician education with direct engagement between local oncology teams and Cancer Council Victoria, with a focus on equity, patient experience and practical integration with existing care.

Findings will help identify opportunities to strengthen and potentially expand this partnership approach across the Hume region.
