Standardising early palliative care intervention for patients with aggressive haematological malignancies (EPIC-Haem)

A project is underway, supported by a NEMICS service improvement grant, which proposes to make it usual practice at Austin Health for the early referral of older patients with particular aggressive haematological malignancies to Palliative Care. It is anticipated that this approach will improve quality of life of patients and carers, as well as improve healthcare utilisation. The haematology team’s view of this approach will also be assessed.
