LotusTeen: Connecting 12–18-year-olds with the cancer information they need

The LotusTeen project aims to improve support for young people recovering from cancer by creating age-appropriate, accessible information tailored to their needs. Many young people experience ongoing challenges after treatment, and current resources often do not reflect their experiences or stage of life. This project addresses that gap by co-designing practical digital content with the people who will be using them.

Through workshops with young cancer survivors, five key topics were identified, including body image, living with uncertainty, returning to wellness and navigating relationships. Participants expressed a strong preference for short, informal, video-style content featuring real experiences. The project is now developing these youth-friendly resources, which will be integrated into the LotusLab app to complement clinical care and better support teens in their recovery.

An update on the project was recently presented on 26 February 2026 at the Cancer Survivorship Community of Practice event. Click the video below to watch the recording.
