LMICS Lymphoedema Scoping Project

LMICS has continued work on the lymphoedema scoping project (mentioned previously in the LMICS Newsletter).

Recently, a forum was held with representatives each health service initially interviewed, summarising the results of the scoping study and presenting the emerging recommendations. Results from the scoping project resulted in discussion on updates since the initial interviews. The discussion on the recommendations was positive and constructive, and were generally well received. New models of care (included an Allied Health Assistant-led screening program) were presented and discussed among the region about feasibility. New concerns and viewpoints were discussed and will be further investigated by the LMICS team to ensure a region-wide equitable approach to any future actions. After the forum concluded, participants of the scoping review were asked to complete a survey to provide feedback on results and recommendations.

Moving forward, LMICS with continue analysing the results of the survey and will be publishing a public report, detailing the projects results and recommendations for future actions.
