Chemotherapy Accreditation and Cytotoxic Safe Handling: A Scoping Review to Inform a Standardised Approach

Supported through the HRICS 2026 MK Memorial Grants Program the Paediatric service at Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) identified the root causes of variation in chemotherapy accreditation and cytotoxic safe handling practices. Informed by root cause analysis, the solution prioritisation recognised the change required; a structured localised training module and Guideline, followed by specific governance processes for monitoring and compliance. This defined improvement pathway will inform a consistent and sustainable approach across AWH.
