Victorian Cancer Survivorship CoP recordings 26 February 2026
More than 40 experts in cancer survivorship care gathered in Melbourne on 26 February 2026, joined by another 60+ online, for a hybrid community of practice event co-hosted by the VICS and the Australian Cancer Survivorship Centre.
Consumer presentation
Our first presenter was Harriet Green, who was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in early 2018, treated at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, and achieved remission in November 2018. Harriet was invited by the Australian Cancer Survivorship Centre to share her lived experience of treatment and of follow-up care after treatment, then insights into what could be improved.
VICS-funded projects
Next, we heard short presentations on 13 new projects around Victoria, funded by grants last year from the VICS Cancer Survivorship Program, to improve care and support for people living with and beyond cancer.
Discussion sessions
In the afternoon, the Australian Cancer Survivorship Centre led two discussion sessions on preparing cancer patients for the post-treatment ‘survivorship’ phase of care. Summaries of insights from each session are recorded below:
