SMICS to present two posters at MASCC/ ISOO 2026 Annual Meeting
SMICS will present two posters at the Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC) Annual Meeting in June.
The posters highlight projects focused on improving inpatient supportive care screening and enhancing care for older people with cancer through a geriatric oncology model.
The first poster, Enhancing inpatient access to supportive care – can Digitalisation Bridge the gap?, explores how digitising the current paper‑based, validated NCCN Distress Thermometer (DT) at Monash Health has improved inpatient supportive care screening rates and increased nursing staff knowledge and confidence in supportive care.
The second poster, Proven FIT – enhanced supportive care via implementation of a geriatric oncology model of care, presents findings from SMICS’ recent Frailty Informed Treatment project.
Both posters are based on projects supported by SMICS Senior Project Manager Jodi Dumbrell.
