Hope, Healing & Heart: Paediatric Palliative Care Learning Day

BSWRICS was proud to collaborate with the Barwon South Western & Grampians Region Palliative Care Consortia to support the delivery of the Paediatric Palliative Care Learning Day – Hope, Healing & Heart, held on 11 June 2026. The event was a resounding success with over 100 registrations and strong engagement.

The event brought together families, and professionals for an inspiring day of connection, education, and shared experience. Designed to strengthen support for children with life-limiting conditions and their families, the Learning Day showcased expert perspectives, innovative practices, and emerging models of care, with a strong focus on holistic and bereavement support across Victoria.

The program featured a diverse lineup of speakers representing leading organisations and lived experience voices, ensuring a well-rounded and deeply meaningful learning experience. The day was guided by Jess Holmes, who shared her lived experience as the mother of Henry, bringing a deeply personal and connecting perspective to the event.

Attendees heard from a range of respected speakers and organisations, including:

  • Jess Birnbaum, Very Special Kids, alongside the Barwon Region Family Support Practitioners, Lori Mauerberger and Madeleine Clarke.
