GRICS attends Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Summit
The Victorian Integrated Cancer Services Optimal Care Summits program focuses on examining cancer care and outcomes for culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) Victorians.
This work brings together data, research and lived experience to identify unwarranted variations in care across the cancer pathway, with the 2026 summit prioritising key areas where inequities exist for people born in non-English speaking countries. By shifting the focus to priority populations, the summit aims to better understand barriers to equitable care and inform targeted, system level improvements.
Gippsland Regional Integrated Cancer Service attended the CALD summit alongside other Integrated Cancer Services and have already begun working with partner organisations to support these priorities. This includes strengthening collaboration, contributing to shared learning and supporting initiatives that improve access, coordination and culturally responsive cancer care for CALD communities across Gippsland.
