GICS Launch 25-26 Professional Development Grants

2025-26 Professional Development Grants – Now Open!

As part of our ongoing commitment to improving cancer patient outcomes and experiences, GICS are excited to launch the GICS Grants Program: Professional Development Stream.

This initiative is open to all allied health and nursing staff working in cancer care at any of our member health services.

The funding program will provide grants for two distinct categories of professional development:

Conference Attendance

  • Up to $1,000 (incl. GST) per applicant
  • To cover conference / scientific meeting registration fees
  • Conference subject matter should be cancer specific or be clearly applicable to cancer care and be directly relevant to the scope of practice of the applicant
  • Can include travel & accommodation if required (these costs must make up no more than 50% of the grant request)
  • NB – priority will be given to applicants who have successfully submitted an abstract for presentation at the conference.

Specialised Training

  • Up to $2,000 (incl. GST) per applicant
  • To cover course fees for in-person or online training
  • Training should develop skills that are directly applicable to cancer care and directly relevant to the scope of practice of the applicant
  • Can include travel & accommodation if required (these costs must make up no more than 50% of the grant request)
